    Helmet idea

Guys, I was surfing the net and found this helmet that was designed for bikers by Fox. It looks identical to a MX helmet but it has vents in it. Do you think the vents that are in this helmet will keep it from bucketing so bad?

I don't think that would be enough venting to help...

Im not sure but I am actually more affraid of a broken neck with the helmet than I am of a solid impact without it. It seems like more people get hurt with the sudden stops than head tramma or abraision on the water. The added weight of the helmet wouldnt be good on your neck when hitting the water at 80mph. jmo

I guess I should add- if your riding by yourself. I forget sometimes that others have people to ride with.

The helmet would be used with a neck brace of course. I understand what you are saying, but I think the neck brace would keep that from happening.

why couldn't you wear a thinner type helmet, similar to a skydiver? They wouldn't catch the water nearly as much....

I am seeing more and more snowmobile helmets. Great venting system, pretty quiet, closed face shield prevents bucketting, usually DOT and some SNELL rated, anti fog works great. Prices aren't too bad.

Nothing like having a beaver stare back at you.
