    Angry I've learned my lesson

Was out today,Being the nice guy I am..When 2 young ladies asked for a ride I said yes. Long story short,I allowed then to take it out after the ride by themself.Eveything seemed fine when they came back. Then 3 of them headed out, They were having trouble getting on plane.(Total weight about 315#,small girls)Then they stalled and rolled it. Swam out rolled it and brought it in.No water in cyl. as it was died when flipped. The front head paint i darken.Pulled plugs and had Alum. on front cyl. Just got the new triple pump yesterday...not in yet. Well....Here's the result. Burnt down on the exhaust side, spilt a ring and cyl is Fubar. Was this a lean condition from pump? or over heating.Thoughts.... Thank in advance... Anyone have a jug and piston. Thanks,Dano

Would you guys think it was the lean condition that did the discoloring or a cooling problem?( as in not getting it on plane?) Thanks

Plane has nothing to do with cooling. I doubt it was a lean condition that did that damage. It did get real hot though to discolor like that. Hopefully no metal made it's way into the crank bearings. I've got what you need to get you backon track though. PM sent.

    Question

Could they have sucked something and plugged the grate.Going to need to find a cause before putting it back together.

What exactly is the lesson here? It sounds like you're trying to blame a mechanical failure on the operator.

    I'd say air leak.

Plus, you should have got to go out WITH the girls first.

If it were a cooling issue you would have probably seen that on all cylinders.
My guess is a fuel supply issue, went lean, deto'd, damage done.
I guess a pressure test would be in order first.
    Check crank index, just because.
Repair damage to cylinder (hope it ends there)
    Update and clean fuel system
    Go have fun.
