    Just Wondering

So I am sitting here thinking about what mod I might want to do next on my GPR because it has been pointed out to me that I may be about maxed out with her in it's current state. And I guess that porting would be the logical next step but there are a few options there also. Then I think ported 1300 not bad but I think it may be out dated soon. Then I think 1390 might be a good choice and I can still run my injection thats not a bad idea. But then I think if your going to all that trouble to get more power why not go 1500 or 14 what ever it comes out to that you call it a 1500. My question is what kind of speeds should I expect from a single pipe 1500? I am just looking for some imput to help me make a good decision.

My suggestion would be just port the 1300 cylinders without going BB. You might be leaving some power on the table but not much IMO. If you went this way you wouldn't have to bore and renick cylinders and be married to aftermarket pistons. The power of TJ's porting on my boat is incredible and have yet to realize its full potential. On my rebuild I went with new OEM 1300 pistons etc. for optimum durability.

I picked up over 300 rpms just going with porting on my 1300.

I think it depends on who sets up the boat. You guys obviously know how to dial in your handling.

Can this porting be done without having cylinders re-nicked?
If so, it may not be as long of a wait for me to have porting after all.

Now if we could just get those results with a non-pv engine I would be happy FO SHO.

M tragger has a non pv motor thats 1300 efi ported and runs at or near 80 but, not sure what his rpms are

You would have to talk to Peteshauling "Frank" about the 1500 but here's my take on it. With 3 months of motor tweaking by Ben and 1+ month of prop snd set-up tweaking by Frank, the 1500 has run a best of 75.7. Your 1300 has run a best of 75.9, seems as though you're already ahead of the game . I would port the 1300 cylinders and maybe throw some fresh pistons in it while you're at it and save a lot of money over the 1500 as well as be faster
