    How do I gut and cut stock waterbox?

    I want to have the stock waterbox gutted, and cut? I like a rumbling exhuast...and maybe an exta pony or two?

    How much can/should I cut to facilitate S/C removal? As far as internals, do I just cut and smooth the inside out? I have a 'welder' friend that is good, I just need to be able to tell him what exactly to do...

    I did this to mine with one exception. I also cut the other side and shortened the box. Mine is about 12 inches across, and with the thru-hull sounds pretty damn awesome.     RXP Steve... you left the baffle in yours, you did the three 2" holes? And you trimmed the 'back' to shorten it to about 12" overall...does your setup allow you to remove S/C without disconnecting waterbox?

    Yes on the three holes, and ever since I removed the black foam cover on the waterbox, I have been able to remove the S/C without loosening the J-pipe. I pull the strap on the waterbox, pull the waterbox back with one hand and remove the S/C with the other.

    i completely gutted mine and shortend it too. its loud with thru-hull. sounds good though.

    Boosted did you cut yours in front and back, about how much did you shorten, what is its overall length?
