Is Polaris coming back to the ski market.

I have talk to a few local dealers and rumor has Polaris maybe returning 08 or 09. Is this true or are they just full of [email protected]#. These were two different dealer and one wasn't a Polaris dealer. Victory is Polaris Savior. If this isn't true one can always dream.

A rumor I hear surface from time to time but I don't think it will ever happen. I would imagine with the beating they took, they won't be back.

The Cliffnotes version is that the PWC market has been declining since its peak in the mid 90's. Polaris needed to spend some big dollars revamping its engine lineup (emissions), and decided to just pull the plug. Steadily declining sales coupled with big dollars in R&D...can't say I blame them. Couldn't imagine them ever getting back into it...

Interesting enough, Polaris never once made a profit in any year in which they made watercraft. That and being so far behind in the engine design and meeting emissions soon to be implemented in 2006, they had no choice but to pull the plug. To start back up would take enormous amounts of money for no profit...well I think it's beating a dead horse!

The numbers I saw - there was a higher percentage of sales in clothing and accessories than PWCs.

Bummer. Polaris now has huge military contracts, so why care about consumers when you have government coin everywhere? Money is money!
