Quick question on sucking up sticks

Real quick question. I have an 07 RXP and have been sucking stuff up left and right. The other day I sucked up a stick while out and lost all of my power because it was wedged in there. I got it out after ripping parts of the stick off piece by piece with a pair of needle nose pliers, but don't want to be in this situation again. What would help?

I was thinking of picking up a SS wear ring but didn't know what else would help me out. Any suggestions. I searched but couldn't really find a good answer.

SS will help with softer stuff like little sticks. The plastic wear ring allows too much stuff to dig in rather than be chopped up.

I don't think if anything will help if you are riding in a shallow area or a place that has lots of debris. I know some of the places I go to I avoid after a storm due to all the crap on the water. One time I got a flexible branch wrapped up around the prop and could not even see it but killed my speed.

SS ring doesnt give when debris enters. Therefore the debris will chop up if its soft or ruin your impeller. With plastic ring, debris usually will just wear the ring and not the impeller.

Haha. The CT River is kind of like riding in a forest plus the baby diapers and what not. I never start it until I am at least waist deep, I'm 6'1.

So my only hope is the SS ring correct?

It's like the game rock, paper, scissors. Whatever is the wekest looses. if you have a plastic wear ring it usually is the looser. A stick versus stainless, stick looses. Rocks versus stainless, stainless looses.

I had it happen 3 times in 10 hrs but never had a problem with twigs hanging on the leading edge of the impeller after installing a Solas. The stock impeller is a lot sharper and will slice into the twigs.
