What should I do to my hull? Pics on the way!

At this point, My 96 xp has no motor/gas tank/oil resevoir in it. It is upside down in my garage and I am ready to get to work on my hull. I think most of you have already seen the pictures, but I am not sure what I should really do here. Since I have gone this far, I think I am going to do a little more than just marine tex, but I don't want to go as far as truing the hull. Later today I will post some pics of the hull upside down. Should I start by cleaning it, then patching it up, then work my way up to 1200 grit wet sand, and then buff? Thanks, Charlie

Charlie..you should definitely true the hull. It made a night and day difference with the tracking on an X-4 hull. Not so much speed gain as the tracking and handling. If you need a document on how to do it. I'll post it for you. It will not hurt your performance, it'll only help it. I promise. :P

I just don't think I will be able to do it right. I read your article before and it seems like a very intimidating task for a 15 year old. If you could post it again that would be great! And what materials, products, and tools I may need, Thanks a bunch! Charlie

I have the picture ready to go, but I can't figure out how to attatch more than one. On the bottom it says add attatchment, I can add one but I click it again and I can't get more than one, it just replaces the last one I tried to attatch.

you're lucky the handle bars have not folded up already-- get the weight off of those bars! take the steering off would be my suggestion because the ski will sit a lot lower so you can work on it.

I will, I just got it flipped today so I'm just letting it sit until I can get it on saw horses tomorrow after football. It is just the hull, nothing else inside, so it isn't too muc hweight on the bars, It can't be worse than slamming all your weight on the bars when riding it. I will put it up tomorrow, but for now it is just on dollies. Thanks, Charlie
