1200 charging coil?
Tested the rectifier on the gp and it works. I pulled the stator, but have not ohmed it out yet. just wondering if you guys know of any common problems with theses things?

Had problems with pick up coils they were ohming out fine but had a pinched wire stoping it from firing when running.
Bought a bad stator but it could be fixed it had broke of at the soldered connection.

well, here's what I found. 1 wire was broken off. 5 minutes with a soldering iron and it ohm's out OK. We'll see if it actually works tomorrow. . .

I had one go out and another one I took out by missing a loose washer that was stuck to my flywheel it was not pretty at all you can ohm it all out with out pulling the cover I have done it a couple times.

You definately lucked out on the 'wire come loose'. Should be good to go.
I would add, some have experienced low output from a weak stator.
If you have a Riva CDI and can't break past about 6800 rpm , put on the stock CDI and it goes higher, stator weak. Crazy, but happens.
Not sure exactly why, would suspect coils internally shorted. Has anyone used Jet Ski Solutions for a rebuild? Heard they've done good work.

With the riva cdi it gets up to around 7200 in the water, so that's all working right. reason I went searching for charging issues is that the gauge was not getting power from the green wire, and the running voltage at the battery was 12.5V. Good testament to the DEKA AGM batteries that I am using though. ran all day fresh out of the box and still has more than enough juice to start the beast

I have had 2 of those batteries they worked great with MSD but they never lasted more than a year I think they should last for at least 2 years.

well, the ones in my polaris and raider are on there 3rd season. maybe you got a lemon? I think they have a 1 year warranty.

I have a back up on the shelf bought it of off ebay with no acid
I can get acid and charge it any time I need it.
I actually have almost enough left over acid from the last 2 batteries I bought but not quite.
Good luck with the Decka maybe im rougher on them than you lol........
