    Please Help with Carb Settings!

I have a 96 Super Jet (all stock). i had problems with it not starting or idling. I have rebuilt the carb and found the jets were clogged. It was running fine for a while, now it has difficulty startign again (I have to take the cover of and completely choke it to start it) then it stalls again. I am thinking it's just a carb adjusment thing, but I can't find where the carb setting should be to start out. Any help please. Thanks. I downloaded the Mikuni manula, but I can't find what the initial settings should be in there!

    ????

    Hey Steve..

From what i'm reading you solved your problem then repeated it..!!!

So from that i'd be thinking you sucked the same shit back out your tank...!!!

Maybe investigate the state of your inline filter also...

Hope this points you somewhere towards the solution mate..

    Good luck with it..

Thanks for the reply. I don't think it's the same problem though. When the jets were clogged lsat time they were all full of varnish and junk cause it sat for a year with gas in it. But this time it was running fine and then it stopped. I think the adjustment screws got moved and now they're way out of whack.
    Thanks,
    Steve.

    Carbs..??

    Hey again Steve..

Okay first up, i'm not that familiar with the superjets..

So are they one or two carb(s)..??

Also when you rebuilt the carbs.. did you do both sides..?? or just the jet side..??

The hard starting will likely be caused by knackered check valves..!! or blocked carb filters..!!
    (NOT on the jet side)

As for the adjustment screws(hi's and low's) i'd say set them both at 1.75-2.0 turns out each,
    For your starting point..
Then do the low speed tunning first..

One last thing, did you clean ALL the bad gas out of the tank.???

I did both sides of the carb (it only has one Mikuni 44), and replaced the check valves when I did it. And all the gas is new. I'll try startin the adjustment at what you said and see if I can get it goign from there.
    Thanks,
    Steve.

    Exclamation ??????????

    Hey Steve...

    From re-reading your posts...

I'm starting to thing you've maybe knackered the check valves again..

When an engine is getting cranked over for extended periods without starting.. its Hell on the check valves..!!

    Once they're creased/mangled(good word).? engine starting/running = nightmare/timebomb..!!

See how you go with the hi and low screws.. i doubt it'll fully solve the problem mate..!!

For piece of mind.. i'd suggest pulling the carb one more time..! Go slow and recheck everything..

Also replace the main fuel filter + check the little one in the carb
