Lowish Speeds, Lost acceleration and strange whistling sound
I've had an 05 RXT from new which has now done just under 50 hours.
Seems to have lost a bit of top speed and acceleration and now makes a strange whistling noise, most noticeable when it lifts out of the water over waves.
Managing around 63MPH on GPS, with RPM around 8100RPM.
Doesn't seem to give that same "pull" when accelerating from a standing start that I used to get.
Anyone got any ideas what it could be?

Sounds like a boost leak. Are the clamps on the S/C to T/B hose tight? still original?
Otherwise I would check the wear ring in the pump. if it is original with 50 hrs, it is probably junked.

At the back of the engine you will find the supercharger.
There are two large rubber hoses. One that takes tha air in, and the other that pushes the compressed air to the throttle body.
The intake hose is the hose coming straight off the back.
The hose in question is the other one coming off the side going toward the right side of the ski (When looking from the rear).
Check that hose

I don't think he'd be pulling the full 8100rpms if he had a boost leak...

I was thinking metal washers may have been installed and the replacement clamp on the S/C hose may have been loose. If it is all original, then I was barking up the wrong tree. It most definitely is the wear ring in the pump.
By the way, if you are planning on keeping it, get metal washers for the S/C!!!
