GP runs good 3 sec. then just boggs!
took the ski out tonight but it started last weekend, but at WOT it pulls hard like it's suppose to for about 3-4 seconds, but then dies like it's bogging for fuel. i put new gas in it to make sure, new plugs but no help. i have a restrictor in line on the return line, but it did it last week even before i installed that. plugs are all tan, so tuning should be ok. it feels like it just runs out of gas! fuel pump problem maybe??
ohyea, after it bogs and i let off the gas for a couple of seconds, then i hammer it again it takes off like crazy then starts all over again. almost like it needs time to put fuel in there but when it's all used up, it just dies again???

guess it would help. it's a 00' GPR with stock carbs which are jetted with fuel accelerator removed, riva flame arrestors, Dplate, chip, grate, prop, stock reeds. That's the majority. sounds like a fuel problem to me but dunno...

Did you take the "trap door" off of the bottom of the fuel pickup?

What do you have..???
Jetski wise that is..??
Carbs, fuel inj...??
From what you described.. my first guess is... its got CARB issues..
That or a clogged main fuel filter..
Through i've experianced this myself.. turned out to be the little filters in the carbs..
They had all kinds of crap in them...!!!
Cleaned them out and the problem was solved 100%..
Thats where i'd look first..!!!

mine acted like that , it was fuel pump diaphrams in the carbs !

well i just rebuilt them last month and they worked perfect after that. the trap door is still in there i guess. i'll pul that thing out tomorrow and see what it does. if fuel was the problem, then why does the plugs still look good while it running? i'll pull the carbs off anyways to make sure the filters are clean again. they were before but there may of been crap in there since then. i'll try it out tomorrow.

Make sure you check your main fuel filter..!!
The one behind the front bucket mounted up just in front of the steering..
That could be restricting the fuel..??
Hope you get this resolved..

ok guys, i worked on it all day today and no help. i removed the flapper, pulled the carbs and all looked great. carb filters were perfect. front filter was also clean and could blow thru it without any problems. totally clean. pulled the reeds and they were still immaculant. (SMW) i got the heads in today, so i installed them while it was all apart. thanks man!!!!they look great, i'll hit you up later. the ski still does the same thing, pulls really really hard now for about 3-4 seconds and just falls on it's face just like theres no gas. i don't have any on/off/res switch either. straight to the tank. fuel pump problem is what it sounds like to me. any other ideas??? should i just rebuild the stock fuel pumps or maybe add some type of after market fuel pump??
