buddydoo has a special mod that i taught him about and is probably the reason for his 2 mph increase.

Last time i rode his ski i GPS'd it at 70.1 mph. I taught him a trick that i learned for the GPR guru's. He implemented the mod and has gained 2 mph.

I wanted to do this to Careys ski just to verify there is a definate speed increase before i post the mod, but will share it with you guys right now.

The trick is to make some skegs out of aluminum. They are 12" long, 5/8" wide and protrude down off the rideplate 1/2".

What this does is create lift reducing drag. It also makes the ski handle like its on rails. It will also reduce porpoisiing dramatically.

I'll post results soon enough from Careys ski to ensure that what we have found is indeed a true 2 mph increase.

    Enjoy the pics

Doesn't the xpl have these on the hull ?

I wonder if a RXT would benefit. I don't see why not.

If it is a true 2mph mod you should make them by the shitload and sell them.

    They are HARD to make!

I have Daniel machining a set for me now. Buddydoo brought me an extra set, but they still need some more shaping done to them.
