so does it eventually quit or do you have to disconnect the battery?

have you checked to see if your thermoswitch is connected? (it's located at the top of the head, between the spark plugs) If somehow the thermoswitch wire is grounded to something, it will buzz.

If the wire is connected, try pulling it off and see if the buzz stops. If it stops, then you have a faulty thermoswitch. To double check, ground the wire (with the lanyard connected) and it should buzz.

That's strange. I've never come across that before, nor have I heard of it. Sounds like the MPEM going bad. Either disconnect the buzzer so you don't have to hear it and hope the MPEM doesn't go bad.

Does it buzz again as soon as you hook the battery back up? Or does it have to run first?

yes it does start beeping as soon as you reattach the battery but its like a softer beep if you press the start stop button with out the lanyard attached it will start beeping loud again until you disconnect the battery WHATS UP WITH THIS SKI ????

Sounds like the DESS post is bad. Try disconnecting it then connect your battery and see if it still beeps.
