Wanna do the 4" intake mod today, need your guys help! and pics!

I know this has probably been asked a million times , but i did a search and couldnt find what i was looking for. So basically i was wondering if you guys could help me get my 4" intake going. Now whats the best way in doing this! Is buying the rear intake worth it or do it myself. Now if im going to do this myself what kind of hose should i use and what size filter, do i use K&N with outwear, and how big diameter or long should it be? Should I make those hose go all the way up to where that triangle hole is upfront just below the little storage bin! Any ideas or inputs would help for the best way of doing this and also i have a catch can already so i dont need to re route anything. Also send some pics it always makes it easier thanks guys always appreciate your help!

i think that the front intake is a big improvement its been proven on this site that rear gives you more boost and rpm so i have rear air intake and very happy with it going to put flow rites under grab handle hope to get even more rpms

main thing is do you have a large auto store chain, like a Peop Boys or Auto Zone....

IF so, check out ther air filter setup. Some of them have generic large filters that have 4" openings, BUT they come with some adapters to reduce it to 2.5"...If they have anything like that, get it, you'll need the adapter for the SC...

If you get the filter, go to any of the marine stores and look for their vent tubing....BUT its gotta be stiff stuff, not the crappy white junk that you use for clothes dryers...If they have some sturdy stuff, then get about 10 ft...

Yes, a rear intake is worth it, BUT you can do it on your own and save a ton of money over the Riva kit.

However for starters you will need to put a 4" intake adapter on your SC. A forum member on here sells them, but I forget who. You will also need to make up an oil catch can system.

Rxpblast sells the aluminum adaptors. SteveFriebe has a complete 4 inch kit that is a real good deal. The Riva rear is the way to go if you dont ride in super rough water. I have tried them all, Riva rear rules.

PM forum member RXP'in in MI for some great pictures of a homemade rear intake. I'm sure he would be glad to help you out.

friebe1 offers a turn key 4" intake solution if you want it real easy. You can't do it today but he has the stuff on the shelf and can ship as soon as $ in hand. He has an adaptor for the SC to convert to 4" with the kit. He may sell it alone if you want to just buy the reducer and piece together the other pieces. I don't have pics handy but I'm sure I have seen them on the forum.
