What is a Rev Limiter?
What is a Rev Limiter and how is it wired into the electrical circuit?

A rev limiter simply controls engine RPM to about 4200RPM when the system indicates a Low fuel/oil or overheat condition.
When the condition(s) are met a ground signal from the specific sensor is sent to the LR-54 (depending on model), which in turn connects the gray wire at the CDI to ground. This engages the second timing curve which limits the boat to roughly 4200RPM.
