You dont need a R&D head but probably do need increased compression.

No, you do not need to rejet. You also can save quite a bit of money if you just get your head cut instead of a new aftermarket head, works every bit as well, and looks stock.

What year ski? and what mods are done to it? This will help to answer your question better.

    • R&D Aquavein Intake Grate
    • Solas Dynafly Impeller YG-DF 14/20
    • Solas Billet Aluminum Impeller Cone

Whats the actual difference between an R&D head vs getting the Stock heads cut? Price and performance wise?

Price was $135 to have my stock head machined to 150 PSI by Pro-Tec. Performance was better than my Riva 41cc heads and the water routing is superior.

    my $.02

I also have the stock head milled with ZERO problems.

There must be a reason that a bunch of the really fast skis run the R&D heads though. Not sure if they are getting tighter squish or what.

    you cant girdle stock head....

plus if one dome gets messed up u only need to replace one head not the whole thing...

Thats also a very good point but how often does it happen when one head gets messed up?
