    '95 seadoo xp vts

Can someone tell me what controls the stroke of the VTS actuator on a '95 xp? If I take everything apart is there some adjustment internally I need to do to prevent the motor from over running? Thanks.

i was wondering the same thing. because my gaguge is stuck in the up postion. the only part i didnt replace was the vts box its self. new motor and stuff. i was thinking maybe it has a postion sensor that it reads off that main drive screw

There are magnetic reed switches located in the VTS "box". They are actuated by magnet that's in the trim rod. If the switches are broken or a circuit has gone bad in there it will do exactly what you mentioned. The circuit won't know when to "stop" becuase the end switch doesn't send that signal. Your guage being stuck in the up position could be the same thing, a bad ground, or something wired wrong.

Jetcar, for right now the box is not fixable. Your option is to use a DPDT 10 amp switch from Radio Shack and wire it in. Your other option is to use the stock buttons and make a circuit that uses a pair of relays. I can make you a schematic if you want. It's very simple. You just won't have a guage cuz a timing circuit just isn't worth it on these. Just having the trim is good enough IMO. Or heck - spend the $200 on a new box. HA.

As IBS said the VTS box is likely shot.

For a temp fix I set mine at one click below top and unplugged the motor.

    VTS trim 95xp

Thanks for the help. I fixed the motor, replaced the fuse all looked ok. Ran the trim and it did not stop, smoked the VTS box. I'm selling the ski so I'll look for a used box. Thanks again.
Anyone able to answer my question about a 10 vane tec-4 pump posted last week? Motor for my 98GSXL being shipped today so I need to make a decission on using thr TEC-4 pump or a bronze pump.

Would one of Danny's 155 mm pumps work?
