My ski shut down on the river

Was riding all day, near the end of the day was going WOT at 7800-7850 rpms,, rpms dropped to 7400 all of the sudden. I slowed down to stop and ski shut off. Only meassage was "MAINT" ski would only give maybe half a crank and not turn over.

CrazdRxp towed me in, got ski home checked the intake and steering nozzle nothing stuck there and wear ring looks fine. Pulled the plugs and the electrodes looked dry (is this normal)...oil level is half way between the marks ...after pulling the plugs the ski seemed to want to crank over and start more than it did before. Going to try new plugs, but I'm sure it must be another problem

    ANY IDEAS???????????

make sure your stock IC didn't spring a leak.... spraying water into the engine then let go of the throttle while water is still getting injested essentially stalling the motor and giving it an ever so slight hydrolock...

now working on the 7th blown stock intercooler of the season where i work... all pretty much similar scenario but to different degrees... drop in RPMs at WOT and then let go of the throttle to an idle and it stalls and some of them start up and sputter, some are hydrolocked, and some are fouled plugs...

so that COULD be one place to start looking

your stock intercooler is located inside the intake manifold and you can view the front of it by looking for the 2 hoses that connect the inlet and outlet... Front of engine...PR...
