    Top End bearing?

So I got the 65U cylinder back all bored and done today. So I'm just putting the new Pro-X pistons on and I also got new top-end bearings. So I try to put the first one on and I can only fit one of the thrust washers in.

I ordered these bearing from Hot Products and it looks like they are bigger than the old ones? Weird thing is that the new (bigger bearing) will fit in the old Wiseco pistons, but not the new pro-x ones. I thought that they would be the same? Am I missing something here, maybe the washers are supposed to be different?

    Cool

well you can use longer one with out washer,BUT useing smallerone with washers is supost to give better thrust washer centering and better control at high rpm's

    they say?

    later cd

My 65U has 1mm over OEM pistons, no washers. I had a set of 86mm pro x pistons, no washers. There is a little side to side play, but I thought that the lower washers were supposed to center the rod.

Looks like from the pictures that the new wider bearings have the same size needles, so I believe they would center up the same as the narrow ones with washers.
WAIT: The washers are bigger OD'S than the bearing, so they would limit side movement of the top end of the rod. Probably there for good reason then. Believe I would reuse old ones if the needles are not scratched or pitted.

I would use washers with the shorter ones and no washers with the longer ones

Have done both never a problem.

650 style bearings don't need the washers.
