    sltx 1050 overheating

Hello again. My 1996 sltx 1050 is overheating, the engine is not getting water when running in the lake, but the engine runs fine when it is hooked up to the flush system. I'm not sure if there is a water pump or how it works. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance and happy jet sking.

Check for a plugged intake screen at the pump.

I will loook at the screen tomorrow, and yes I have had the pump off and just re-installed it. What is the reason for that question, is there a chance I did not install it correctly?

    SLTX overheating

Mine is doing the same thing, it runs fine in the water but after 5-10 minutes (or I hit top end) it gets the hot warning and stalls...but starts right back if you let off. I am going to check the strainer but I am not sure...

show hard is it to get to these screens and how likely is it that they are the problem?

If the overheat started after the pump install there is a good possibility you didn't install the O ring on the water supply tube. I've seen guys leave the tube out or not realize it didn't seal (as it was too short) when they installed a pump wedge.
Just trying to get a feel for when it may have happened.
