    Water temp light!?

    hello iv been having a little trouble with my 02 xlt1200 lately. the temp light goes off and the motor wont start or anything. would anyone know what the problem could be?

    have you checked it by running it on the hose?
    Is there something blocking the cooling water? check the strainer in jetpump
    do you have catcon installed still?
    How long till it shuts off, right after start up or after WOT?
    more info/details would help

    Bad cooling temp. sensor

    no now it doesnt wanna start up. it just turns over and thats it. but i have a really good feeling its the temp sensor! where is the temp sensor located on these motors?

    The water temp sensor is in the back of the pipe just before the water box.
