2000 GR1200R Carb issue (could take all summer to repair)

Okay guys.............I think a few of you are tired of seeing me here asking for help on this boat. Rest assured I have spent a few $$$$ at www.4-tecperformance.com on this boat and a few others...........Now with that being said............HELP........This boat is really giving me a headache. I replaced the stock intake with Prok flame arresters and boots. From this I got a lean condition in the midrange and was told that it was very dangerous to the heath of the engine. I was told to rejet the carbs. I did this with a kit from Island racing. After installing it I couldnt get it to draw the fuel, so I primed the cylinders and it fired up and ran. It quit after a minute or so warming up and wouldnt fire back up until I primed it again. I was told to get a primer kit. This I did and today I installed it. That works fine, but I have to use it every time I start it. Also it wont idle for long. And after about 15 or 20 seconds I blup the throttle and it just quits, no fuel. When I open it up it sounds like its starving for fuel. I turned the high adjusters out as far as 1 1/2 turns and as far as 1 turn in and got the same results when I gave it 3/4 throttle.

    Any ideas?

I dont remember all the stuff from the other post so I will ask a few questions.

    Fuel sender trap door removed?
    single or dual fuel supply?
    Fuel Filters new or old?
Can you verify the fuel returning to tank?
    does the tank hold pressure?

    here is a few links

What all did Island give you in the kit (not specifis like jet sizes, just jets, accellerator pump blockoff etc.)? Or what all did you work on? Is the ski the same now as before the rebuild? That sounds like you have an air leak somewhere. My latest project jet ski did the same type thing. Crank seals were leaking. I had the carbs off 3 different times and couldn't find the culprit. I finally had to dig deeper.

you might have the fuel lines to the carbs reversed (that is why it is getting no fuel)

If you rebuilt the carbs, you could have installed the pump diaphrams incorrectly. Might be time to pull 'em down and recheck all your work.

Whats afuel sender trap door??? There was nothing in the rejetting instructions that mentioned it. Single with return line. New filters last season. Yep....its goooood. Yeppers it has pressure.

125 high's Yes a accelerator block off. not a rebiuld just a rejet and yes no other changes other then whats listed above. dont know how to check for an air leak, but it very well could be.

Yep 1 to 2 pumps every time.

Nope. The lines are cut to length. Very hard to reverse them.

    Didnt rebuild them. Rejet only.

the trap door is on the fuel pick-up in the tank.. its just a small flapper....

you shouldnt need to pump with the primer if the motors warm..

Are you supposed to remove it as part of the carb rejet process?
