00 PRO 1200 Trim repair
The trim on my PRO does not work so last night I took the electrical box apart and changed out the fuses that were in there and it didn't fix it. There is a quick release fitting about a foot after the wires come out of the trim motor and I was wondering how to get power to that. Do I need to cut one of the wires right there and hook up my battery charger on 2a to see if it works. Or can I take an extra piece of wire and stick it in the fitting and hook the other end to the charger?

Just run little jumper wires from your battery to the motor and see if it works.

Odds are that the seal leaked, and the gears are rusted.
If jumping the electrical doesn't work, that's the next place to look.

Well I took the cover off the trim motor and there is a little cylinder that is rusted inside. I guess that is what Wetherby is taking about can you fix it or do I need a new motor?
How do you take that cylinder off?
Can I ride it with the cover off how it is right now?
Sorry of all the questions but i want to take it out on sunday and was just wondering if I have to put it all back together.
