My Piranha IC Fix-Version 2
Alright here is what I did the second time;
Starting with a ¾ wide by 1/8 thick flat aluminum stock, I wraped around a 2.5 in. diameter pipe and then cut to length. I used a hose clamp to close the ring and verify the diameter is 2.5 in on the inside (clamp to 2.5 in. pipe, If it tightens without a gap you are good to go)
I made a pair. I then took to a local welder and had them welded on to the intercooler. This is what I ended up with. No more hose falling off on me!
I am glad i took your guys advise and had them weled on. It just looks that much better and not some home done in the dark jobber.
If you haven't read version 1 this may not make total sense. Here is version 1.

I should add, the cost of doing this is relatively inexspensive as i thought it would have been more
Peice of aluminum, $6
Hack saw $4
Cost of welding $45
Peace of mind, Priceless
I am glad Piranha is lengthening theirs on their next batch. To sad for the rest of us.

One problem with this!!!
You need to do one of two things. Either have the water supply fitting installed before it is welded or get an extension to move the 90 degree fittings out from the IC(like one fitting already has, just need two more). There is a clearance issue after you have the extisions welded on. The fittings either can not be unscrewed anymore or you cannot screw them in because they hit the extension now.
Just a minor deal but just an FYI

Travel-I actually got to jumpy by saying there was a clearance problem. There is not. I looked closer at the fittings. I notice your just have to take the barb off the 90 degree bend part. Then install the 90 onto the IC and then the barb. You just can't intall the barb and 90 as one peice.
Sorry guys. THis is a trial and error thing for me
