Thread: Grate Seal?

    Grate Seal?

I had to remove the grate to get a piece of a stick off the blade and when I did I noticed a seal of silicone or other matter around the threads that appeared to seal the contact.

Do I need to replace this with some sort of similar seal or not to worry about it? Please advise as to what you would use?

    2006 GPR...BTW.

    Thanks in advance.

I use liquid teflon on every bolt below the water line to help prevent water intrusion. Water intrusion will cause corrosion and result in broken/seized bolts.
