    Bilge Pump help

I want to install a bilge pump in my 94 waveraider and need a recommendation. I ride it chop alot and between that and doing spin outs there's a decent amount of water in the hull at the end of the day. I'm looking for one that automatic so as soon as it senses water in the hull it comes on until the water's gone. What's a good brand and what GPH do I need? I don't want to spend too much but don't want something that's going to crap out in a couple weeks

    Thanks!

I use the Rule 500 GPH automatic for PWC's. It comes on every few minutes and runs if it senses no water flow it shuts off again. They are nice units I have three of them I'm running

If you do not have a switch it will run all the time (comes every few minutes) and eventually run your battery down when not in use.

Could you hook the automatic rule 500 bilge pump up so it will only get power when the lanyard is plugged in? This way it wont run the battery down when you are docked or in the garage.

IMO, i think it's smart to hook the bilge pump to a switch just to kill the power. This way if you go into a restaurant on the water or leave ur ski un attended for a couple hours, you can leave the bilge pump on even with the lanyard off... then when the ski is out of the water for the day or back home, then kill the switch so it wont drain the battery.

having it powered by a switched 12V source with the lanyard gives you no protection while the ski is off and sitting in the water

I ran mine off the lanyard so it runs whenever the lanyard is installed. It is a pain to get to the wire but I think it is worth it.
