Well I'm not sure why it broke on you but shit happens?

Anyways, Carl will beable to tell you all that I am sure after he digs into it. Also if you wanted performance upgrades while the fixing is going on he is you man. He will know exactly what you need.

Time to pull the head off and take a look inside the cylinders.

Take the head off and snap some pictures. You have nothing to loose at this point and maybe we can help you out.

    You said that it misfires?

Do you mean backfires? You could have a bad reed if it were backfireing, and that cylinder may not be able to build compression. I'm not saying that this is the problem. Lord knows that I'm not a mechanic. It is just something to consider.

Sears sells a "Bend-a-light" for about 15-20 bucks. It is a very small light at the end of a wire about the thickness of a clothes hanger that you can stick inside of a cylinder through the plug hole. You can check for any obivious damage. If you do not know exactly what you are looking for, you just compare the "bad" cylinder to the other 2 cylinders. If you see the damage before you pull the head, it makes you feel real confident about your decision to pull the head.

    Just a thought.

Salty makes a damn good point.
Here is some questions I have that might help you figure out what could have happened.

How many hours is on the ski?
    Any mods?
    Have you gone pre-mix already?
    Is the cat-con still in?

I picked up a ski a few years ago that had low compression on 1 cylinder. The dealer told the guy he needed to rebuild the engine. The guy then let the bank repo it. I picked it up 2 years later. When I got my hands on it, the motor was in pieces. 30 minutes of investigation and come to find out, the cat con broke apart and 2 reeds on 1 cylinder were missing. Cylinders and pistons were all good. The mechanic was trying to make some money off this guy.
I aint complaining, I did pick up the ski for next to nothing because of this shady guy.
