    handle bar pad repair

want to share the fix for old, faded, discolored pads.i was tired of paying 40-60 dollars for used pads on e-bay plus shipping 10-15 dollars.go to your local napa store and get a can of plastic-dip in the spray can comes in red, black, yellow, blue, white. 9.00 dollars a can 1 can will make any handle pad look like new.take your time and apply 4 heavy coats.1 can per pad. check it out keith

Make sure it's degreased thouroghly with either wax and grease remover, or naptha (zippo fluid). Same thing.

Otherwise the pad will peel like a banana.

If this stuff works on handle bar pads, will it work on the bumpers? This may solve my issue of the ugly purple bumpers that need to be painted this winter along with the rest of the ski!!!

    Still no pics??

If this works good I will do the same because I'm not a big fan on the fadding red/pinkish bumpers. I want everything blue.

Do a search because I think people were using heat guns to fix faded bumpers.

I wouldn't hold your breath waiting. He only has 18 posts and this was put up in August. Try sending him a PM. It might go to his regular email account.

Sorry I don't have anything closer. It's the blue pad.

Originally the pad had nearly no paint, some pretty deep cracks.

What grade of steel wool do you use?

Any issues with tiny rust stains in the rub rail crevices from left over bits of steel wool?
