Are the Riva sponsons worth it?

    Thanks.

Not really? I havent notced much a differance. It handles and turns a little better..thats about it. For the money, I dont think they are worth it. Take the money and put it on a Stage One kit

For running thru lots of chop i like the Riva sponsons. The keep the ski planted straight. For turning i like the stock sponsons, but hate them running thru chop.

This depends on who you talk to and what you want out of the ski handling wise. Jerry likes the Riva's for tracking thru chop, however guys like mrracing say they are not good for turning (they don't build up g's and want to throw you off in turns more). But mrracing is what his username states, a racer. He claims the best sponson option is to keep the stock sponsons yet redrill the holes and move them as low on the hull as possible. Other guys like RXP Steve love their Jet Wing sponsons. They help you plane quicker and make the ski turn harder.

It's all personal preference. The best advice for setting up your ski's handling is to test on your own. What works for someone else may not work for you. If you get the Riva sponsons and don't like them I'm sure you can put them up in the classified section and sell them pretty quickly.
