    More Air for Rotax Racing mods?

    Lately I have been hearing that the Riva Power Filter is borderline too restrictive for the Rotax Racing mods, ie. ECU, Vortec SC, Intercooler, etc. I know Mark from Race Tech uses a home grown 4 inch tube with a K&N on the end. Also, when working in the RXP hull, the Riva Power FIlter has a tendency to get in the way a lot of times.

    Has anyone else experimented with different air intake designs? Maybe larger flexible hose going to the front of the ski where the original intake was? This would be easier for working on plus deliver more air to the SC. Thoughts?

    I'm not sure if anyone has incorporated PPG's pressurized stock airbox system with an ECU and IC. I've got one and will be adding the IC and Vortech within 2 weeks.

    I think Jarrett is referring to trying a bigger inner diameter air tube/hose to accomodate more air to match the additional fuel added by the RR ECU. I like the theory, but does it work in practice?

    I am running the Riva powr filter and am able to turn up RPM's, but now you got me thinking. More air is better! Especially since i now have a ported head and cam.... hmmmm

    The only problem is getting the "right" amount of additional air without creating a lean condition. I wonder if Mark U or anyone else has dynoed a bigger air intake device.
