The Boogie Man
My old piece of junk went 79.6 today at high noon. 98 degrees outside, 77% humidity, and BP of 29.80. Not bad for an engine that's 3 1/2 years out from a rebuild with over 100 hours on it. I'd say this thing is going to scoot come 70 degree weather...
Latest is courtesy of WFO's pump extension, pressure relief valve, and some rideplate/tab tuning. For some reason, this thing likes a lot more angle on the plate now.

Your shitting me... the weather and water conditions down there was good enough for you to run that number? Weather.com is a bunch of fucking retards!!!!!

Yeah, way to go Clint. Make sure you pack your dress and earrings next time, you little beotch.
I never expected to run that today - that's typically been a cool weather number for me. But I spent the morning adding angle and playing with tab shims, and by noon (oppressive heat, I might add) it was getting quicker. Wonder what it would have done in the early morning...

What angle are you running now FB? I was/am running 1.050" on my 1200 for its best runs. Front of plate to pump shoe step of .070". Cut Riva tabs spaced .060" all mounts. 800 grate blueprinted (sanded) Pump shoe up .080" in hull. 14/24 DF. HP Pump 85 nozzle no bilge or squirter. Stock sponsons stepped. That ski is good with that setup to 77.8 MPH, not sure whats going to happen when it goes faster. I hope like hell it doesn't unhook buck or hop.
How much difference did you notice with the extension? I'm putting one of those on when the 1390 Ported goes in.
I'll get my baseline with the 14/24 and pitch up from there.
Oh good numbers for the heat and humidity. Superman?

Hell no on the superman - I won't do it. That's sitting on the seat. Come to think of it, that's 1.6 mph faster than at MB3 two months ago, and it's only gotten hotter. It's amazing what a little tuning and testing will do, no?
Spud, I don't know what angle. I just play with it until it's right where I want it, and lock it in. I'll have to check it one day.
