    Unhappy Ultra 250 Gas in the oil.........what I am doing.....


    My Ultra 250 is totally stock except the Riva plate and the pump wedge.

    I am having an issue with fuel getting in the oil.

    I noticed this the very first time that I changed the oil. 20 hrs.

    I have since changed the oil every 10 hours. I do this since I also had an oil sample sent for analized. I have very much the same percentage oil as Turbo Dave had with his sample.

    The oil I am using is Mobil 1....15-40 used for supercharged and turbocharged engines! I get it at Wal-Mart for $20.00 a gallon. I use the 15 weight oil because, when my oil gets diluted with fuel my 10 weight oil is not 10 anymore..............it is more like a 8 or a 7 or even less! The 15 weight oil gives better lubrication qualities.........which I feel everyone should be concerned about.

    Gasoline is a strong detergent, and can wash the oil right off the bearings! I feel if the oil is not kept "up to date".......changed every 10 hrs or so..........and the level kept correct! There is going to be some major problems with lower end repairs!.........as I have to remove oil/gas every 2 tanks or so with my siphon pump.

    What do you think Kawasaki is going to do after the warranty ends for most of us in Feb or March?........NOTHING!

    I am documenting everything!

    What hours the oil was changed?
    What kind and weight of the oil?
    Oil filter change?
    How many hours did it take to overfill the crankcase according to the dipstick?
    My time and travel?
    ALL COST INVOLVED!

    I am doing this to document every oil change and filter and montoring the oil level before and after each ride........ and every third oil change I am sending a sample to have analized for fuel contamination.

    I suggest that EVERYONE buy a Kawasaki Extended Warranty from someone, somewhere........48 months sounds pretty good for 600.00 or so......

    I am going to try my best to have it together when the time comes.

    Oil foaming?

    I don't know this for sure but the mechanics here say that you must run the Kawasaki or the Honda syn.with moly additive too keep it from foaming in the high rpm engines!We all run it and have no problems,Hope this helps you!

    we run the Kawi jetski 10/40 in our race boats and the customer boats we sold, we have absalutly no problem with gas in oil problem. Pne of the boats was to a rental company he has 235 hours on the motor and only 2 oil changes SAME BELT!!! you guys are making mountians out of mole hills. even the 12f,s have gas in the oil to the point of smelling it,, if wait 50 hours to change it. boost makes it happen faster. our oil we change at 10 hours because of racing and practice, the oil is still clear at 10 hours no gas smell.

    I know that this site represents way less than 1 percent of the 250X owners and most of the riders on this site do not use factory oils and fret more than most people that just buy one take it to the surf and let there 16 year old kids go out and treat it like crap and just park it until next weeked and maybe change the oil at 70 hours if lucky.

    These customers are NOT having the problems represented here at all!!
