Anyone Have the Pillar Procedure done

I've been researching remedies for my snoring problem and the Pillar procedure appears to be a fairly effective, minimally invasive procedure. Has anyone had this done? Any feedback?

No on both. I don't really want to look like a fighter pilot when I go to sleep, so I am looking at other remedies.

More than likely, you will have to do the sleep study anyway. I would make the appt now, do your sleep study and then see what the Dr. says. They wanted me to have the major reconstructive surgery and I told them no way could I live with my jaw wired shut for weeks.

I have a c-pap but could never get used to it. I have also looked into this alternative, but could never find anyone that had it done. If I cant find someone to talk to it about I guess I will have to resort to one of the newer "smart" c-paps.

Yeah, there is no way I am going to let them do major surgery. If that's the case, the wife will just have to sleep in the guest bedroom

Franko, I saw one remedy where they fit you with a mouth piece type apparatus that foces your jaw forward opening up your airway. I can saw some logs while sleeping but I've never suufered from lack of sleep due to it.

Yeah, for certain conditions, a dental device works well. But things are never that easy where I am concerned They will probably tell me they have to amputate something to cure me.

I use one of the Mandibular Positioning Devices. Basically it's two form-fitting plastic teeth molds with rubberbands to pull your bottom jaw forward while you sleep. My wife tells me it helps as long as I stay on my side. I had the sleep study (interesting) they recommended C-pap. I couldn't sleep with the thing on.
