Wouldn't putting skegs or sharpening the chines on the hull around the intake area give lift too ?

All of the old Aftermarket companies used to make ride plates with fins or skegs on them. Mariner, Ocean pro, DG, triton, PJS. they stoped when the IJSBA outlawed them for racing because if someone got run over the protruding fin or skeg would shred the downed rider.

Ya think? Let me slap ya across the chest with a 4' 2x4. Then let me slap ya across the chest with that same 2x4 but now having a 10 penny nail driven through it,,,,,see what I mean. pain is pain but in reality they are different.
