    Mouse Induced Blow-Out

I blew out the water box coupler on my '97SPX. After slowing from a mile+ WOT the motor choked and died on its own exhaust. Because of where the hose blew there was the NO excess water in the hull! The bailers did great.

I got a five mile toe back from a 250X. Like we where'nt there!
    Thanx Chris

It appears that a mouse had eaten a thin spot in the coupler and the preasure blew it out (not melted at all).......That should tell me I don't ride it enough...or...

...now we know what happened to Hydrotoy's Stink-Eyed Beaver.

Thats happened to me several times, its not a mouse...Check your water supply, and shorten the distance fromthe exhaust stinger to the waterbox...NO GAP!

Also, is that high temp tubing? or just regualr radiator hose?...if it sregular radiator hose, might as well stock up on more of it because you will burn through...happened twice in 45 minutes to me on a lake!

Steach, I agree with Danny. You might be a bit too lean on the midpipe jet. Also I'd replace the vinyl hose going to the head with rubber. When the engine gets hot (wot) the vinyl softens up and blows off the barb. Hydrolocked my first GK Sleeper kit with this hose...the first time out...

definitely had the same thing happen to me. for some reason i thought duct tape would fix it (i must have been drinking....) and it obviously didn't. I think I bought mine at a local Seadoo dealer/shop or at the local boat repair shop.

I walked into marine repair shop and the guy had some scrap 2" Goodyear Marine Wet Exhaust Hose and cut me two 5" pieces for $5!!!

-no clogs in the lines or waterbox jet. I just melted the crap NAPA hose.
