Crazy..I'd be doing all my shopping south of the border.

I am not happy about it due to the fact that the dollar is so close in value now.
There is already talk of buying groups going south to buy.

i can safely say that i will never buy a new sea-doo in canada. the prices were ridiculous before and are even worse now. i don't know how they can justify those prices with the dollar so close in value as boataddict said. it seems they can get away with it though as you don't hear many people bitching about it. i'll let my non-buying do the speaking. my last 2 skiis were purchased in the usa and my next ones will be as well. i have a few friends looking for skiis too and we will be going to either michigan or new york to buy.

I am buying an RXP-X so if anyone is interested in a group buy south of the border. PM me or reply here. F this. This is BS. Like Boataddict said the cdn dollar is almost = the US $. So why the huge difference? I'll drive all the way the florida if I have to. Whats a few hundred bucks on gas + hotel if I am going to save a few thousand.

whats really sad is that seadoo is a Canadian company arent they? it says made in Canada on most of the parts on my ski...

Your ski is made about two to three hours from my house.
It is assembled in Canada.
That is why I can't justify the pricing.

I know, this is crap. Bombardier is a Canadian company; they've been bailed out of bankrupcy multiple times by the Canadian government, and this is the thanks the Canadian taxpayers get? Bullshit. You'd think at least BRP could buck the trend of gouging Canadian consumers like everyone else does.
You look at almost every product these days and companies are still charging grossly inflated prices above the border. Hello! The Canadian dollar isn't 70 cents US anymore! It's 97! How do they justify charging us $4000 more to cover a $400 difference in cost?

I guess I made the right choice by enlisting instead of running off to Canada during Viet Nam !!
