Bilge Blower Is Week' Then Gets Strong' Is it Going Bad?

The bilge blower in my 06 Sea Doo sportster works when it wants to. When I first hit the switch to turn it on it will run but it's realy week sounding. Then if I turn the switch off and back on again it will run strong. Anybody know if maybe my blower is going bad. I don't think it's the switch and I cleaned all the contacts on the plug. Thanks for any help on this matter...

Those blowers use brushed motors. If you've injested water at all it could effect the brushes on the armature. Also, if you have lower voltage going to it it would make the motor run weak. Check your connection with a volt meter and be sure you have 12+ volts. If so, then it may be the motor. I would try lubing it with machine oil and see if that helps, otherwise you may have a bad one and need to replace it. Those motors are usually cheap tiwan or japan motors and made by the millions.
