    Can oil change color?

When I uncovered my 92 gtx today, I looked in the oil tank and the oil was a different color. I used omc oil from my outboard in there. I have a two stroke johnson, and I asked around and everyone said it would be fine to use this oil. It was blue in the container, and when I put it into the tank last summer it was blue. I looked in the tank and whiped the dip stick, and now the oil is red! What is that all about? Thanks, Charlie

I haven`t heard about that the only thing I would prolly be concerned with was condensation, if any...if you want tp play it on the safe side, dump it and put in fresh!...PR...

Others on .net said that the oil I was using for the 580 is not good. Why is that? The oil I have now is two stroke oil and it isn't synthetic. Could that be why my oil pump failed last year? I went almost a whole season on one tank of oil. When I noticed that, I did the top end. Is it ok If I just clean out the tank, but there is still some of that other oil in the lines?

Is it ok to just drain the tank and fill it with the bombardier oil? I was hoping that I didn't have to go nuts getting the oil out of the lines and stuff. Is it ok if there is the little bit of old oil that comes back into the tank of new bomb oil, coming from the return line? Can I rebuild my oil pump on a bench? Or just clean all of the little parts? Will my oil pump start working better when I introduce the new better oil?
