    I need help choosing jets for a sl900 converted to 1050

    Hey all,

    I am trying to buy some jets for the 1996 sl900 that I am converting to 1050. I have 3 keihin 38mm carbs and need to rejet. Who knows what jets I need????

    Depends On The 1050????motor Listed As Follows 96 Sltx 142,142,138 58 Lows,58 Mids
    97 Sltx 148,142,142 55 Lows,58 Mids
    After That The 1050's Went To 40's

    perfect

    Since my engine is a 96 and the 96 sltx used the same crank and stator etc I think I will be ok. It even used a 38mm carb in 96 some technically the only thing I would need to do is change those jets to the ones you suggested? yes? lol

    The Real Questions Are,what Cylinders????019's,018's,the 1050 Using A Different Water Routing And A Different Water Bar,both Of Those Need To Be Done To Make The Change Over

    I'm new with this so I'll try giving you as much info as you need. The engine was 900cc stock and I want to bore the cylinder from a 74.5 to an 81 diameter. will 1050 heads not match up with 900 cylinders? Should I just buy 1050 cylinders? Ive got the jetting figured out now I think. From what Ive read I didint think anything other than the heads, boring and jetting needed to be changed for this conversion.

    You cannot bore a 900 cylinder to 81mm...Its too small. You'll need to start with 81mm cylinders (either from a 700 or 1050), and you'll also need the heads from 81mm cylinders. The bolt circle is different on a 900 vs. a 1050/1200.
