    newbie here, questions

    Hey everyone,

I just got a stock (for now) 1994 slt 750 and I was wondering what the best bang for the buck mods are.

I need to do something about the carbs though because it bearly runs and the carbs are just clogged up im pretty sure. Since im planning on lightly modding it eventually do you think I should just get carb rebuild kits and bigger jets or get new higher performance carbs? Either way, im still lost about what exactly i need, so any help is appreciated.

Also, does upgrading the reed valves really do anything?

    Thanks!

Clean the carbs and rebuild/replace fuel system parts as necessary.
Extended pump and ride plate would be a nice upgrade.
Reeds made a difference in my 780.

First things First, Rebuild the carbs, clean the tank and change it over to a triple outlet fuel pump,if it doesn't have one. Bigger jets won't help with everthing stock except run richer. Reeds will help with responces.
Take time and read other post on here to get a idea of what the differance Mods will do for you.Alot of guys are doing Mods on them this summer. Then you'll have a good idea how much Bang you can afford.Good luck.

What kind of mods are you looking for? Better handling, better holeshot, or more top speed? Don't waste your $$ on a perf. waterbox IMO. Best mods without having to mess with the engine would be a performance ride plate, maybe a pump wedge, and an aftermarket impeller.

    Ok, thanks.

So far here's my list to get me running:
    oil pump block off
new impeller, most likely Nujet "the destroyer" based on price
    rebuild carbs
new intake grate (either used stock or aftermarket)
    jet pump rebuild kit

any other maintence items that are pretty standard?
also, does anyone know what carb rebuild kits i need? theres a lot on parts unlimited but no real model cross reference
