Ultra 250 Tops out at 63.5 mph ? WTF ?

Come on now, you're kidding right ? Were they running on fouled plugs or something ?

    Sxy, where'd you find that?

For testing, they must have picked up one of the slow ones second hand for comparison

That's the boating mag that last year reported the Ultra goes 70 out of the box with zero mods.

Ultra could have had a full tank.

Yah, I'm sure, what did you expect from a Yamaha commercial, you can easily see the guy on the ultra dogged it.. on a bad 95 degree super high humidity day my ultra, which I consider on the slow side of stock still hits 66.5...

I hope people don't believe that BS. My 250X ran 67.5 consistantly with only 6 hrs on it. With a few mods I'm now at 70. 63 mph top speed for a 250X? Even if it was full of gas and it was 100 degrees outside it would still run faster than 63.

The only fair test will be when someone does a direct comparison between boats purchased at a local dealer. This test was sponsored by Yammi and Yammi ran a finely tuned pre-production ski against sub par competitor skis. Who did you expect to win ?

If the Yamaha SHO only runs 66 they are in trouble. Some 250X's are slower than others but many members on this forum have stock skis that run faster than 66. I agree with Richard that the Yamaha was probably a ringer but if it only goes 66 then the Yammi boys will be 3rd on the list of fast skis behind the 250X and the RXP.
