RXP won't turn over
06 RXP, 141 hrs, new cam, chain and valves at 82. New sc at 81, didn't clean screens or oil pump.
Now, it ran fine but when I turned it off after an hour ride it would turn over once and not start.
It has been leaking oil since the rebuild, in 60 hrs and 4 months I've put 3 qts of oil in it. It's going in the hull not burning it. And still able to pull 70 mph(gps).
I'm thinking the rear seal has been leaking the whole time.
BUT why won't it turn over, it started this morning for 5 seconds and now it turns half a revolution and that's it.
The battery is charged and good.
I pulled the pump and the prop spins freely. Driveshaft fine.
It's going to the stealership wed morning.

Starter could be bad. Or, check for corrosion on the battery cables or the on the cable going to the starter.

put the pump back on, remove the plastic cone w/ 3 allen bolts. use the allen socket on a breaker bar and turning clockwise (don't want to loosen the prop) the impeller bolt so as to rotate the motor. Is it tight? Remove all 3 sparkplugs, it should turn quite easily. I don't like the fact about the oil leak and was that a previous ceramic failure? If the motor is tight I got money on the thrust bearing. Anybody giving me 2 to 1?

Dealer called today, Friday
The tech pulled the motor because the main shaft wouldn't turn. He said the SC had a problem and it broke teeth off of the flywheel. And metal went thru the motor, he doesn't know how bad the crank or cam(cams?) are. he will go deeper on saturday.
Now, he said seadoo might not want to cover it under BRP extended warr. because it might not be a failed part that cause the mayhem. WTF !
He is going to try to show it as warranty but seadoo will want the parts and then maybe try to deny the claim. He was just warning me
WTF again !!!!!!!!!!!!
Guys I may need some professional help.
I'll take pics saturday when I go look at the carnage and post em.

oohhhh but nooo....say it ain't so......B.E.S.T.???? uhh, Shibb? WTF? And, do we have the whole story here? No mods? Oil leak after dealer fixed? Is the tech trying to cover his butt? too many questions but that gear is fed oil via drainback from the head....if low on oil while running I smell a cover-up.....treat the customer like a mushroom........feed 'em chit and keep 'em in the dark This sounds like mayonaise sandwich......if u gotta eat it make damn sure everyone gets a bite. Did they offer to fix the leak or even know it leaked after?
