    Saltwater riders!!! Advice please!!!!

Guys,i was wondering what some of you have done to coat your intake grate or aluminum tabs with to keep it from tarnishing??? I made the mistake of sanding and polishing tabs, grate, and bottom of pump shoe only to see it ruined and pitted after a few rides... I spray amsoil on all aluminum after washing every ride and i now am considering painting the parts to avoid this problem... Thanks

My advice is to find a freshwater source and ride the ski for 15 minutes or so right after you leave the salt. Then wash everything down with soap and water. I will also take a mixture of saltaway in a spray bottle and liberally coat all metal parts. After vacuuming the hull completely dry and airing it out over night with the fan I will then spray CRC 6-56 Marine lubricant over the plate, grate, pump, motor etc.and give it one final start to make sure all the moisture is out of the exhaust.

Salt is all I ride in. I've never had a problem - I simply hose it down with fresh water after each ride.

Thanks guys,i will prob switch to crc instead of amsoil,(Chip had told me several times to use this product) and maybe try just drying the aluminum parts after washing before i coat with crc.. I would rather do this instead of painting, hell i have over 40hrs in sanding and polishing these parts.. I would say when i pulled the shoe and grate yesterday i just wet sanded with 1000grit and 2000 grit, forget the polishing method this looks just fine... Thanks
