    Improvements

    Well after blowing the middle piston for the 2nd time in a couple hours. I decided to completely tear it down got a used low hour crank, new middle cylinder, pro x piston kit,(previous one was a vertex kit which was complete junk), ordered holeshot kit with stealth fitting and 3 degree keyway from Island. Hoping it wakes the ski up alittle bit. Also have wave eater clips and couplers, D plate, R&D 1200 Grate, 13/19 solas concord. Ski is a 2001 GP1200R. I know I really need a ride plate just dont have the extra money at the moment. Anything else I should do that is pretty cheap while the motor is out???

    Be VERY VERY careful with the key in a 1200. I have one in mine, but have not figured it out 100% just yet. The timing on the 1200's is a lot more aggressive than the 1300's. There is not much room at all for error.

    You need to figure out why the cylinder keeps seizing. Air leak, carbs, etc.

    You might want to invest in a pump plug kit.

    oh I also have the PPK, the first time it seized was due to a powervalve drop, 2nd the ring spun on the vertex piston and it caught the exahaust port.

    air filters with pre-filters, re-jet... disable accelerator pump.... primer kit. these are all relatively inexpensive...

    also how do you mean be careful with it. Dont I just install and leave alone. I was told to just run 91-93 octane and I would be fine with stock head.

    Pressure test the engine before putting it back in.

    never pressure tested anything before, how do I go about it, what do I need, and whats acceptable and whats not
