Running 4 qrts of oil..OK?
Quick question guys, I had my techs at the car dealership I work at suck out all the oil out of my runner and I filled it with 4.00 qrts...
Should I add 0.5 qrts or 0.25 qrts??? Let me know your thoughts...

i run 3.5 to 3.75 qts..how much did they pump out?

They pumped out about 4.5...
The dealer was aware about the oil fill problem from a previous customer and were nice enough to correct the fluid level...

at the 3.5 - 3.75 qts, your changing your oil every 10hrs right?
Filter change at 20hrs?

3.80 qts is about right
smell your oil via the dip stick - if it smells like heavy fuel, I recommend you change - I am changing about every 5-7 hours. Also note that I have a blow by issue. The thought of all of that fuel in my crank case scares the s--- out of me..... I smell heavy fuel, I change it.

I think we should follow MFG's recomendation on oil changes and see how long these babies will last with gas in the crankcase!!! It's kind of ridiculous to change every 10 or so hours. I myself, will be changing the filter every other 10hr change.

FYI, I'm getting pissed with the thought of running my waverunner for 3-7 hrs, use about 40 gallons of fuel ($120-150), and have to do an oil change for $30 (cost of & filter).
I know these things are money pits but for F's sake I should've traded in 2005 CBR 600RR and bought a Ducati 1098...
I could ride the thing all weekend and it'd cost me MAYBE $40 in gas (for about 350 miles of really hard riding) and over time the thing would hold its value better than a 250ultra...
I'm kicking myself in the ass for this decision allready...
(still have the 600RR)

pay close attention to your oil..just record how much you put in this time..and record how much you pump out next time..if or when you smell gas on the oil dip stick it is advisable to change your oil
