    Crap Crap Crap

During the process of going through my carbs on this rebuild, I pulled all the brass plugs off the needle valves.

All 3 of my low speed needles were stuck. I managed to break 2 of them loose, and workable. The third refuses to budge, got it soaking in WD-40 at the moment.

Hopefully my screwdriver just isnt' quite right, and Sears has one that fits better.

    Otherwise, I'm screwed.

I would replace them with new ones, why take a chance with old ones if they are stuck? Ever hydrolocked a motor due to fuel?

Buy 3 built kits from Carl at Island Racing and install all new parts.

Or send them of to him and have him do it.

Jims 1300 also rebuild carbs if you choose to send off.

I think his biggest concern is just getting the last one out.

Try using PB Blaster, it seems to work better. Otherwise you may end up taking it to a local machine shop to drill and retap.

As the others said, go with a complete rebuild kit and get the adjustable mixture screws. Keep us posted.

Look at the carb carefully. There's a plug on the opposite side of the low speed needle. Pull that plug out, and you can try to spray some lube in there. Failing that, you can drill the needle out from there.

I stuck a ls needle too, and had to drill it out. Fercho and I were doing this at 2am, and it was pretty funny. Ski runs fine, and has for years.

    Yes, that is correct.

Um, I guess I don't understand completely.. These are already adjustable screws, they were just capped with brass plugs.

If nothing else, you'll see an ad for a carb body in the Classifieds section!

    Here's an update. Sigh.

As you can see, I broke my screw extractor in the jet.

I bought a new screwdriver, the biggest one I could fit in the slot. Gave it a good solid twist, and the screw cap twisted off. Drilled the shank, mabye in 1/4 inch and proceeded to break my EZ-out off in the hole. I think it's time for another carb, unless you guys have an idea.

what size tap is used for the LS screw ?
