new member, looking for some advice

I just bought a 93 sl650 for a very good price. it needed a little work, but with some simple carb cleaning and some minor work I got it running perfect. I am looking to get a paint job on it and also looking to do some preformance changes. I've read through the other few threads with guys with older polaris skis and learned quite a bit. What sites are there for older polaris parts? I am looking on doing exhaust rite now, so does anyone have any suggestions?

I am also lookign for paint suggestions as well.

    Honestly, don't waste $$$ modding a 650. Anything you put into it won't add up to a bigger piston. 650= 68HP 750= 80HP 780=90+HP

I know this is a long shot but does anyone know if there is anywhere i can get the hood graphics for this? The graphics are in really bad shape on the other side and really gives the whole ski a bad look.

Sorry, most graphics are discontinued. Occaisionally something pops up on Ebay, but usually not a whole set.

A good graphics shop could make you some simular but different if you let them see the ski.Plus you can have something that no one else has.

It looks like a new handle bar pad would give it a better look too. I tried painting mine on a Pro I use to have. I don't suggest it, it just flakes off no matter what kind of paint you use. I have seen some handle bar pads recovered with vinyl that turned out real good. An upholstery shop can do it. I got my seat recovered with just some marine black vinyl I bought from a fabric store. I paid a lady that does re-upholstery work 35 bucks and she did a great job with the seat. Got the vinyl for ten.

Looks like a clean ski though, and it runs good to boot. You will have a lot of fun on it.
