Riva Extension Rod & prop choice

Hey everyone. Is the extension rod for the VTS necessary when installing the Riva 2 Degree Wedge???

2nd Question. I am slowly doing mods to my ski as I get the $$ and Time to work on it. When I am all done I will pretty much have a Riva stage II on my 04 RXP, (Except the new SC Impeller and Power Cooler). What is difference between the Solas Concord 14/19 and 15/19? Should I stick with installing the 14/19 or should I go with the 15/19? I am trying not to mess with the engine that much, therefore, the simple mods. I don't plan on doing more than the following:
Sponsons, Intake Grate, Prop, Wedge, Steering Nozzle, Exhaust, Air Intake, Blow Off Valve, Oil catch can...

I just have the two questions. VTS Extension Rod Necessary? and which Prop for my Mods?

    Thanks for the help.

Extension rod is not necessary, and you want a Solas 14/19r.
The S/C impeller and power cooler are the main ingredients of a stage 2. You will have a Stage 1 when you are done unless you include those items.

the 15/19 is the skat 3 blade & you'll need a stg 2+ to run it.
The solas 14/19r or skat 13/18 (not the R prop) will do you nice in your stage 1.5.

You won't get full "down" position if you don't run the ext. rod.

If you run a wedge--and extension rod is a must to retain your best hole shot. I tried both ways and in my case the rod is a must. Big dfference.

I just ordered the wedge, prop, air intake, and free flow exhaust. I already have the sponsons and grate. I think I will run it this way and see whether I want to add the extension rod. It looks like a pretty easy add on. Thanks for the info. I will add the blow off valve and oil catch can maybe in the spring or just at the end of the season.
