Thread: Bilge pumps....?

I've read about people having this in their sea doo's? Is this put in as a permanent thing or what? Why would we need this in our skies?

as a precaution for safety and to protect your investment...
if a seal goes back, something leaks, the bailers clog up, she'll go down quick. we've had a few horror stories on the forum of people's skis taking on water in bad conditions and in the middle of nowhere.... in addition, if u added 5 grand in mods under the seat, it's nice to have a little control over water in the hull JUST IN CASE
get get a bilge pump, hose, and thru-hull fitting for it... and yes they are setting them up permanantly.
do a board search, u'll find tons of pics and model numbers

with all the mods that everyone is doing to their skis a bilge pump is a very smart mod becasue if for some reason water begins to fill the hull do to an improper install of a certain mod or just becasue there is a leak, the bilge pump will get the water out so u can get back in the dock before ur expensive ski with expensive mods goes to the bottom of the water.

yup a permanent thing...its because once you start modding it such as OPAS blocks or thru hull exahust and some other things it is just more holes in your hull and more chance for water to get in...it is more or less just a precautionary thing...most dont use them ever, but if your ever in a siuation 100 bucks can save your $12,000 ski. I have one, and I know Red Devil is THANKFUL he has one too! There is a thread in the technicle forum on the procedure...The only differnce I found (as well as Red Devil) is that if you have a depth gauge you will need to buy the mounting bracket and JB weld it to the pump housing. If you need any pics to help let me know (they are drawings )
