in the wiring harness, there's a bulge that's about 6" long and maybe 3/8" thick... unplug all those plugs for the wire harness so u can work with it more easily... start inwrapping and CAREFULLY slicing all the factory tape off the wireing harness... when you've completely separated and isolated the black bulge that contains all the resistors inside it, snip it out.... you will be left with a yellow/blue wire and another wire which is naked wth no insulation around it..... you need to extend these two wires and resolder the plug to it and wha-laa... knock sensor resistor is gone.

now when you let's say want the knock sensor resistor again for the stock ECU, just get the 04 RXP jumper cable, and now u have a knock sensor resistor again.

If you have the new reflash ecu. You won't have to mess with the knock sensor.

yes you do... been there done that.... with an 05 ski, u NEED to remove the knock sensor that is integrated into the wiring harness. you WILL get a check engine light and the knock sensor code once you get it in the water and up to speed, then it kicks in

*** For Rotax Racing ECU equipped skis ***

If you have an 04 RXP you must have the knock sensor piggy back harness removed.

For 05 and up skis you must manually remove the resistor that was made into the wiring harness.

Novice, you are saying your seadoo dealer was able to write to the Rotax Racing ECU with the BUDS software?

yep , because they do it for me ,jerry
after i asked you how to install 04's ecu(with reflash) to my05'
i tell my dealer to remove the resistor but
the mechanic told me that no need to mess with with the resistor

and put the laptop on and upgrade 04 ecu for me.
